New Bergman film to premiere at Cannes

...but Film is My Mistress, the second film by Stig Björkman, picks up where Images from the Playground (2009) left of will be unveiled in during the Cannes Film Festival, in the Classic section, May 12-23.
The unique small gauges film footage – a mix of silent and sound film – have been compiled and complemented with newly recorded material. In addition to Liv Ullmann the film is commented by Woody Allen, Olivier Assayas, Bernardo Bertolucci, Arnaud Desplechin, John Sayles, Martin Scorsese and Lars von Trier. All of them directors who in different ways nurture a strong bond to Bergman and his work. But it is the voice of Ingmar Bergman himself that provides the bulk of the commentary on the films as well as the behind-the-scenes footage.
