Norwegian director Petter Næss'' Gone with the Woman (Tatt av kvinnen) has been selected for the Contemporary World Cinema sidebar at the 32nd Toronto International Film Festival.

(Erlend Loe)Norwegian director Petter Næss'' Gone with the Woman (Tatt av kvinnen), which will open the 35h Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund on Saturday, 18 August, has been selected for the Contemporary World Cinema sidebar at the 32nd Toronto International Film Festival, which runs between Thursday, 6-Saturday, 15 September.
It will be Næss’ second stand in Toronto, after Elling (2001). Besides 300,000 audiences, more than 2,000 international buyers, festival programmers and press will attend the festival, where Norwegian director Joachim Trier’s Reprise last year won the Diesel Discovery Award.
At its international première, Gone with the Woman, based on a novel by Erlend Loe, will be represented by Næss and producer Olav Øen, of Monster Film. It will be backed by senior vp Ann-Kristin Westerberg, of Svensk Filmindustri International Sales, handling foreign distribution, and the Norwegian Film Institute, based with the other Scandinavian film institutes at the festival’s industry office from September 7-12.
