In the course of collecting a blackmail payments she meets Dr. Wegert, a plastic surgeon who offers to try to improve her appearance. She is transformed into a beautiful woman.

Anna becomes governess to a small boy. The initial reason for this is to kill him so that his uncle will inhering the huge estate to boy is to heir to, but Anna’s physical metamorphosis has brought about a radical change in her character too. When the boy´s uncle, Torsten Barring, races across the ice in a sled, seemingly trying to cause the boy an accidental death, Anna rushes to liberate the boy on another sled, revealing the murderous plan to Harald - a man who has fallen in love with her and wants to marry her. There is an accident, Torsten is killed and the boy saved. But Anna’s affair with Harald is ended. Anna then goes off to China with Dr. Wegert to deliver Red Cross ambulances.
