Walpurgis Night

Because Lena Bergström is secretly in love with her boss, Johan Borg, she quits her job.

She is a highly respectable girl and Borg is married. Borg, however, plans to divorce his wife and marry Lena. His wife has just had an abortion and is forced to confess this to him, as she is being blackmailed. Borg agrees to help her before leaving her for good. In paying off Roger, the blackmailer, there is a fight between him and Borg and Clary Borg kills Roger to save her husband’s life. All evidence of this crime points to Borg as the killer. He of course knows his wife is guilty, but to protect her he leaves and joins the Foreign Legion. Within a year Lena gives birth to a son she calls Johan. Clary Borg commits suicide. Johan Borg deserts from the Foreign Legion and returns to Sweden to rejoin Lena, with the blessings, now, of her father, who, misunderstanding the situation after the killing of Roger, had insisted Borg should leave forever.
