HELLA JOOF, born November 1, 1962, is an actress, a scriptwriter and a director - and she´s highly accomplished in all three areas.

Some highlights in her acting career are: Playing the policewoman Hell in ”Hannibal & Jerry” (1997); playing a small part in Anders Thomas Jensen's Oscar winning short film ”Election Night” (Valgaften, 1998); and speaking Burkina Fasoian in Susanne Bier´s ”The One and Only” (Den eneste ene, 1999). Hella Joof graduated from Odense Theatre School in 1990. As a film director and screenwriter she was behind the very successful films ”Shake it all about” (En kort en lang, 2001), ”Oh Happy Day” (2004)and ”Fidibus” (2006).
