Christer Engberg, the director of "Wild Angel", has also written the script together with the producer and cinematographer, John O. Olsson. Engberg himself has worked for eighteen years at special school in the north of Sweden, engaged in the sort of project which is also the subject of the film. All the actors are ex-students of Engberg's and they have helped to shape the dialogue - invaluable, says Engberg, "because we wanted them to use their own language". No one plays himself in the film, although the parts have been modeled on the actors themselves.
Engberg: "Wild Angel" is a film about young people as individuals. It gives them a chance to show how they feel about their own relationships, where they are going, what they want to do with their lives. There is nothing unusual about young people working together on their own production: It represents just a small fraction of what the younger generation can show us if we only have the patience to listen.
